The GEM Story.
Hi there. My name is Meg (GEM spelled backwards!) and I am a Learning and Development professional who has spent the last 15 years nerding out over all things adult learning.

You see, as a kid, I always wanted to be a teacher. I was very organized, a little bossy, and I liked apples well enough, like every good teacher should.
On my first day at a new job back in 2007, I noticed that at the front of my training room stood someone very familiar. They were organized, they were bossy, and while I don't remember if they had a particular affinity for apples or not, they still applauded learning progress.
I had found the beginning of my career path.
I have since furthered the trajectory and skill set in my journey through the L&D world... Corporate Sales Trainer, Instructional Designer, Manager of Instructional Design, then as the Director of Learning & Development for a nation-wide restaurant chain.
Now, I'm proud to say that I own GEM Learning Consultants and I get to spend every day helping my clients achieve more skills, more opportunities, and more confidence every day.
Now, if only I could get an apple on my desk once in awhile...

The GEM Process.

Our process is inspired by the classic ADDIE model of instructional design - but with a GEM twist. Every project is a little different, but most follow this rhythm. It helps us stay clear, collaborative, and focused on what matters most: building thoughtful, effective training that works.
